Two-Day Itinerary for Dharamshala from Ahmedabad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival and Local Sightseeing in Dharamshala
    12 hours (600 miles) from Ahmedabad

    Morning: Upon arrival, check into your hotel and freshen up. Start your day by visiting the famous Namgyal Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery outside of Tibet. Take a guided tour to learn more about Tibetan culture and history.
    Afternoon: Head to the Bhagsu waterfall, a scenic spot for nature lovers. You can take a dip in the cool water and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings.
    Evening: Visit the Dalai Lama Temple complex, an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists worldwide. Attend the evening prayers and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

  2. Day 2: McLeod Ganj and Kangra Fort
    1 hour (9 miles) from Dharamshala

    Morning: Start your day with a trip to McLeod Ganj, a vibrant town with a mix of Indian and Tibetan cultures. Visit the Tsuglagkhang Complex, the official residence of the Dalai Lama. You can also explore the local markets and indulge in some shopping.
    Afternoon: Visit the Kangra Fort, one of the oldest forts in India. Learn about the rich history of the Kangra Valley and admire the stunning views from the fort.
    Evening: End your trip with a visit to the Masroor Rock Cut Temple, a unique archaeological site with stunning rock-cut temples. Marvel at the intricate carvings and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
