5-Day Foodie Itinerary for Girnar Somnath Nageshwar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Girnar Hill
    1 hour 20 minutes (60.9 km) from Junagadh

    Start your day early by climbing the Girnar Hill to experience the breathtaking sunrise. The climb will take about 3 hours, but the scenic view from the top is worth it. After descending, head to the famous Khau Galli for some delicious Gujarati breakfast. In the afternoon, visit the Junagadh Museum to learn about the city's history. In the evening, head to the Uparkot Fort to experience the light and sound show which depicts the history of the fort.

  2. Day 2: Somnath Temple
    2 hours 20 minutes (79.7 km) from Junagadh

    Start your day with a visit to the Somnath Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. After the darshan, head to the nearby Somnath Beach for a quick dip in the Arabian Sea. In the afternoon, visit the Bakhla Tirth, a beautiful temple located in the middle of a pond. In the evening, head to the nearby Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three rivers, for the evening aarti.

  3. Day 3: Sasan Gir National Park
    1 hour 30 minutes (53.8 km) from Somnath

    Start your day with a visit to the Sasan Gir National Park, home to the Asiatic Lion. Take a jungle safari to witness the majestic beasts in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Kamleshwar Dam for some picturesque views. In the evening, head to the nearby Gir Interpretation Zone for some more wildlife sightings.

  4. Day 4: Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
    1 hour 10 minutes (40.2 km) from Sasan Gir

    Start your day with a visit to the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve jyotirlingas in India. After the darshan, head to the Bet Dwarka Island for some beautiful views and a dip in the sea. In the afternoon, head to the Dwarkadhish Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. In the evening, head to the nearby Rukmini Devi Temple to witness the beautiful sunset.

  5. Day 5: Gopi Talav and Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple
    30 minutes (12.3 km) from Dwarka

    Start your day with a visit to the Gopi Talav, a beautiful pond where the Gopis are believed to have gathered to play with Lord Krishna. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple, a beautiful temple located on an island in the middle of the sea. In the evening, head to the nearby Dwarka Beach for some relaxation and to witness the beautiful sunset.

Recommendations

If you have additional time, consider visiting the beautiful town of Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi.
