5-day Adventure Itinerary for Kerala in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Munnar
    3 hours 40 minutes (92 miles) from Cochin Airport

    In the morning, visit the Echo Point and trek to the Top Station for a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Take a break and have lunch at a local restaurant, and then go kayaking in Kundala Lake. In the evening, take a walk in the Tea Museum and learn about the history of tea production in Munnar.

  2. Day 2: Thekkady
    3 hours 20 minutes (86 miles) from Munnar

    In the morning, visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary for a jungle trek and encounter exotic species of flora and fauna. Have lunch at a traditional restaurant, and then in the afternoon, go bamboo rafting in the Periyar River. In the evening, watch a Kathakali performance at Mudra Cultural Centre.

  3. Day 3: Alleppey

  4. Day 4: Varkala

  5. Day 5: Cochin

Recommendations

Consider visiting the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary for a jungle safari. You can also do a spice plantation tour in Thekkady. If you have time, visit the Athirapally Waterfalls, and for a side trip, go to the Kovalam Beach. Maximise your fun by trying the local cuisine and shopping for souvenirs in the local markets.
