Exploring the Ashtavinayak Temples in 5 Days

  1. Day 1: Visit Shri Ballaleshwar Temple
    Approximately 2 hours (64 km) from Pune

    In the morning, we will head to Shri Ballaleshwar Temple, one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples. This temple is located in the village of Pali and is named after Lord Ganesha's devotee Ballal. After seeking blessings, we will visit the nearby Sarasgad Fort for a scenic view of the valley. In the afternoon, we will travel to the next temple, Varadvinayak.

  2. Day 2: Visit Varadvinayak Temple and Mahad Ganpati Temple
    Approximately 2 hours (75 km) from Shri Ballaleshwar Temple

    Start your day by visiting the Varadvinayak Temple, which is located in Mahad. This temple is situated among hills and offers a beautiful view of the surroundings. Afterward, visit the Mahad Ganpati Temple, which is one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples and is located on the banks of the river Savitri. In the evening, unwind at the nearby Pali Beach Resort.

  3. Day 3: Visit Chintamani Temple and Siddhivinayak Temple
    Approximately 2.5 hours (85 km) from Mahad Ganpati Temple

    Start your day by visiting the Chintamani Temple in Theur. This temple is believed to have been built by Lord Brahma and is said to be the place where Lord Ganesha attained peace. Afterward, visit the Siddhivinayak Temple, which is situated in Siddhatek. This temple is the only Ashtavinayak temple that faces the east and is believed to be the place where Lord Vishnu killed the demon Madhu. In the evening, we will travel to the next temple, Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak Temple.

  4. Day 4: Visit Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak Temple and Girijatmaj Temple
    Approximately 2 hours (77 km) from Siddhivinayak Temple

    Start your day by visiting the Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak Temple in Pali. This temple is named after Lord Ganesha's devotee Ballal and is located atop a hill. After seeking blessings, visit the nearby Girijatmaj Temple, which is situated inside a cave and is considered one of the most ancient temples. In the evening, we will travel to the next temple, Moreshwar Ashtavinayak Temple.

  5. Day 5: Visit Moreshwar Ashtavinayak Temple and Mayureshwar Ashtavinayak Temple
    Approximately 2 hours (87 km) from Girijatmaj Temple

    Start your day by visiting the Moreshwar Ashtavinayak Temple in Morgaon. This temple is the starting point of the Ashtavinayak Yatra and is believed to be the place where Lord Ganesha killed the demon Sindhu. Afterward, visit the Mayureshwar Ashtavinayak Temple, which is located in Morgaon and is believed to be the place where Lord Ganesh defeated the demon Sindhu and his brother. In the evening, return to your hotel in Pune.
