Two-Day Itinerary for Mumbai in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    30 minutes (9.5 km) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

    In the morning, visit the iconic Gateway of India, built in 1924 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. Take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the Arabian sea breeze. Later, visit the nearby Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya museum. In the afternoon, take a short 10-minute walk to the Colaba Causeway, a popular shopping area for tourists where you can shop for souvenirs, jewelry, and clothes. In the evening, head to the famous Leopold Cafe for a drink and dinner.

  2. Day 2: Elephanta Caves
    1 hour 10 minutes by ferry from Gateway of India

    Take a ferry to Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on an island. The caves feature rock-cut temples and sculptures dating back to the 5th century. Spend the morning exploring the caves and learning about their history. In the afternoon, take a ferry back to Mumbai and head to the famous Marine Drive, also known as the Queen's Necklace. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the promenade and watch the sunset. In the evening, head to the trendy Bandra neighborhood and enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants.
