7-Day Itinerary for Jammu Tawi and Srinagar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Jammu Tawi
    10 minutes (3 km) from Jammu Tawi Airport

    Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax after your journey. Spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful Raghunath Bazaar, a bustling market with a wide range of handicrafts and local delicacies. In the evening, visit the magnificent Raghunath Temple, one of the largest Hindu temples in north India.

  2. Day 2: Katra and Vaishno Devi
    1 hour 20 minutes (42 km) from Jammu Tawi

    Early morning, leave for Katra, the base of Vaishno Devi yatra. It is situated at the foothills of Trikuta Mountains and is well-known for its pilgrimage sites. Trek up to the holy temple of Vaishno Devi, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in India, and seek blessings from the divine. In the evening, return to Katra for some local shopping and delicious street food.

  3. Day 3: Patnitop
    3 hours 20 minutes (109 km) from Katra

    Visit the scenic hill station of Patnitop, surrounded by dense forests and enchanting meadows. Take a nature walk through the breathtaking pine forests and enjoy majestic views of the snow-capped Himalayas. Don't miss the opportunity to try the authentic Dogri cuisine at a local restaurant before returning to Jammu Tawi.

  4. Day 4: Srinagar
    5 hours 20 minutes (266 km) from Jammu Tawi

    Head to Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the famous Mughal Gardens, including Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, both situated on the banks of the Dal Lake. In the evening, take a shikara ride on the serene Dal Lake, and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

  6. Day 6: Pahalgam

    Explore the charming town of Pahalgam, situated at the confluence of the Lidder River and the Sheshnag Lake. Take a leisurely stroll through the quaint town and visit the beautiful Betaab Valley, named after the Bollywood film "Betaab" that was shot in the valley. In the evening, return to Srinagar for some last-minute shopping at the local markets.

  7. Day 7: Departure
    30 minutes (10 km) from Srinagar International Airport

    Check out of your hotel and head to Srinagar International Airport for your flight back home.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the beautiful Sonamarg, the "Meadow of Gold," or the historical town of Anantnag.
