3-Day Itinerary for Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Mahabaleshwar
    10 minutes (3.5 km) from Panchgani

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the famous Mahabaleshwar Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the major attractions in Mahabaleshwar. After the temple, head to the Wilson Point, which is the highest point in Mahabaleshwar. From here, you can enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the city and take some beautiful pictures.
    Afternoon: After a morning full of sightseeing, head to Mapro Garden for lunch. This beautiful garden offers a wide range of delicious food and beverages. You can also pick up some Mapro products to take back home.
    Evening: In the evening, explore the Lingmala Waterfall. The waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests and is a spectacular sight to behold.

  2. Day 2: Explore Panchgani
    25 minutes (14 km) from Mahabaleshwar

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to Table Land, which is the second-highest volcanic plateau in Asia. Enjoy the scenic beauty of this vast expanse of land and take a horse ride to explore the place.
    Afternoon: Visit the Parsi Point, which offers breathtaking views of the Krishna Valley. It is named after the Parsi community who used to visit this spot for picnics.
    Evening: In the evening, explore the Sydney Point, which offers panoramic views of the Dhom Dam, Kamalgad Fort, and the city of Wai. You can also enjoy a beautiful sunset from this point.

  3. Day 3: Adventure Activities
    20 minutes (11 km) from Panchgani

    Morning: Head to the Adventure Park for some thrilling activities like zip lining, rock climbing, and rappelling.
    Afternoon: Enjoy a relaxing boat ride in the Venna Lake. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and offers stunning views.
    Evening: End your trip with some shopping at the local markets in Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. You can pick up some fresh strawberries and other local produce.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Pratapgad Fort, which is about 23 km from Mahabaleshwar. It is a significant historical monument and offers a glimpse into the history of the Maratha Empire.
You can also take a side trip to Tapola, which is about 30 km from Mahabaleshwar. It is also known as the 'Mini Kashmir' of the Western Ghats and offers stunning views of the Shivsagar Lake.
To maximize your fun, try to visit during the strawberry season (December to April) and indulge in some delicious strawberry desserts.
