Three Days Adventure Itinerary for Dharamkot in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Trek to Triund Hill
    15 minutes (3.2 km) from Dharamkot

    Begin your adventure in the morning with a trek to Triund Hill. The trail is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountains. You'll pass by small villages and waterfalls on your way up. The trek takes around 4-5 hours, and the final stretch is a bit steep, but the view from the top is worth it. Enjoy a packed lunch at the summit before heading back down. In the afternoon, relax and unwind at your hotel. In the evening, head to the Bhagsu Nag Temple to witness the evening Aarti ceremony.

  2. Day 2: Paragliding and River Rafting in Bir Billing
    2 hours 30 minutes (70 km) from Dharamkot

    Start your day early and head to Bir Billing for an adrenaline-packed day of paragliding and river rafting. Bir Billing is known as the "Paragliding Capital of India" and offers the perfect conditions for this experience. After your paragliding adventure, drive to the nearby town of Kullu to go river rafting on the Beas River. You'll experience rapids ranging from grade II to IV. The activity takes around 2-3 hours. Head back to your hotel in the evening and unwind.

  3. Day 3: Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj
    20 minutes (5.4 km) from Dharamkot

    On your last day, explore the town of Dharamshala and the nearby village of McLeod Ganj. Visit the Kangra Fort and Museum to learn about the history of the region. Head to the Norbulingka Institute to witness traditional Tibetan art and culture. In the afternoon, explore the quaint streets of McLeod Ganj and visit the Tsuglagkhang Complex, which includes the residence of the Dalai Lama. Enjoy some delicious Tibetan food at one of the local restaurants. In the evening, head back to your hotel to relax and pack for your journey back home.

Other local attractions worth considering are the Dal Lake, Naddi viewpoint, and the Dharamkot waterfall. You can also take a day trip to the town of Palampur, which is known for its tea gardens and stunning views of the Dhauladhar range. To maximize your fun, try to plan your trip during the Dharamshala International Film Festival or the Kangra Valley Summer Festival, both of which take place in July. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing and carry plenty of water and snacks for your treks and adventures.
