3-Day Itinerary for Manali in December 2023

  1. Day 1: Hadimba Devi Temple
    15 minutes (3.4 km) from Manali Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit the Hadimba Devi Temple, a historic temple located in the middle of Van Vihar National Park. It is a serene and peaceful place, where one can spend some time in solace. Afternoon, you can head to the Club House, which is a few minutes from the temple. It offers various indoor and outdoor activities like rock climbing, river crossing, and other adventure sports. In the evening, explore the Mall Road and indulge in some local shopping or savor some local delicacies at the nearby restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Solang Valley
    30 minutes (13.4 km) from Manali Bus Stand

    Start your day early and head to Solang Valley, which is a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts. You can indulge in various activities like paragliding, skiing, and zorbing. Afternoon, visit the Rohtang Pass, which offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains. Note that Rohtang Pass is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. In the evening, you can head to the Tibetan Monastery, which is a few minutes away from Manali Bus Stand. It is a peaceful place where you can soak in some positive vibes.

  3. Day 3: Naggar Castle and Museum
    1 hour 15 minutes (20.1 km) from Manali Bus Stand

    Start your day by visiting the Naggar Castle located on a hilltop in Naggar village. It was once the residence of Raja Sidh Singh of Kullu. The castle offers stunning views of the Kullu Valley and the Beas River. Afternoon, visit the Naggar Castle Museum, which is inside the castle complex. It showcases the rich history and culture of the Kullu Valley. In the evening, you can relax and unwind at the Vashisht Hot Springs, which is a few minutes away from Naggar village.

Recommendations

Manali has a lot to offer, and three days might not be enough to explore everything. You can consider visiting the Manu Temple, Jogini Falls, and the Manali Wildlife Sanctuary. Additionally, you can take a side trip to Kasol, which is a few hours' drive from Manali. It is a beautiful and peaceful village located on the banks of the River Parvati. To maximize your fun, plan your itinerary well in advance and book your tickets and accommodations early. Lastly, do not forget to carry warm clothes and comfortable shoes as the weather can get cold and snowy in December.
