2-day Itinerary for Lonavla in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Karla Caves
    12 minutes (5.2 km) from Lonavala Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Karla Caves, one of the oldest Buddhist cave shrines in India. These caves were carved out of a hillside rock over 2,000 years ago and are adorned with intricate sculptures and carvings. Spend the afternoon at Bushi Dam, a popular picnic spot among locals. You can enjoy the scenic beauty and take a dip in the cool waters of the dam. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll around Lonavala Lake and enjoy the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Rajmachi Fort
    1 hour 10 minutes (15.8 km) from Lonavala Railway Station

    In the morning, make the trek to the historic Rajmachi Fort, which offers a stunning view of the surrounding valleys and hills. The fort has two citadels, Shrivardhan and Manaranjan, which were built by the Maratha Empire in the 17th century. Spend the afternoon at Imagica Snow World, an indoor snow park where you can enjoy snowfall, snow slides, and snow dances. In the evening, head to the Lonavala Bazaar for some shopping and local food.
