5-Day Itinerary for Goa in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Fort Aguada
    1.5 hours (26.4 miles) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the famous Fort Aguada, which was built in the 17th century to protect Goa from the Dutch and the Marathas. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Arabian Sea and the Mandovi River. In the afternoon, head over to Candolim Beach, located just a few minutes away. Relax on the beautiful sandy beach and soak up the sun. In the evening, explore the local markets and shops for souvenirs and handicrafts.

  2. Day 2: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    38 minutes (11.8 miles) from Fort Aguada

    In the morning, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Basilica of Bom Jesus. It contains the tomb and relics of St. Francis Xavier, a famous Jesuit missionary. In the afternoon, head over to the nearby Mangeshi Temple, one of the largest and most beautiful temples in Goa. In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Falls
    2 hours 15 minutes (46.7 miles) from Basilica of Bom Jesus

    In the morning, take a scenic drive to the stunning Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and take a refreshing dip in the natural pool at the bottom of the falls. In the afternoon, head back to Goa and visit the Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Goan seafood dinner at one of the many beachside restaurants in Panaji.

  4. Day 4: Anjuna Beach
    1 hour 6 minutes (21.6 miles) from Se Cathedral

    In the morning, head over to Anjuna Beach, famous for its beautiful scenery and lively atmosphere. Relax on the beach, swim in the sea, and enjoy the many water sports available. In the afternoon, visit the nearby St. Alex Church, one of the oldest churches in Goa. In the evening, head over to Tito's Lane in Baga for some lively nightlife.

  5. Day 5: Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
    50 minutes (14.7 miles) from Tito's Lane

    In the morning, visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, a beautiful paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers. Take a guided boat tour and spot various species of birds, butterflies, and exotic plants. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Reis Magos Fort, which was built in the 16th century and offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. In the evening, visit one of the many casinos in Goa for some entertainment.

Recommendations

If you have the time, consider visiting the beautiful beaches of Morjim, Vagator, and Colva. Take a side trip to the quaint town of Old Goa, which is famous for its beautiful churches and colonial architecture. To maximize your fun, try out some water sports such as jet skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides. Don't forget to try out some of the delicious Goan cuisine such as fish curry, prawn balchao, and bebinca. Finally, make sure to catch a sunset at one of the many beautiful spots in Goa.
