A travel tip for this itinerary is to book any mid-long distance transportation services at least 1 day in advance as ferries and flights between the islands have limited availability. The prices of planes and ferries are similar, but ferries take longer. Choose the either option based on the amount of travel time best suited for you.
If you have less time, focus only on one of the three islands recommended in this itinerary. We recommend choosing Isle de Pine. For those who have more time, it's worth exploring the great hiking trails and water activities each island has to offer.
Noumea's La Tontouta International Airport (NOU) is the main airport in New Caledonia, located approximately 52 km from Noumea city center. Isle de Pine also has an airport, the Île des Pins Airport (ILP), located at the town of Kuto.
