Start your morning with a visit to St. John in the Wilderness, a beautiful church surrounded by deodar trees. The church was built in 1852 and is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. Spend some time admiring the stained glass windows and the architecture. Afterward, head to the nearby Bhagsu Waterfall for a refreshing dip. In the afternoon, visit the Norbulingka Institute, a center for Tibetan art and culture. Take a guided tour of the institute and learn about traditional Tibetan art forms such as thangka painting and wood carving. Take a day trip to Triund Hill for some peace and quiet. The hike to the hilltop takes around 4 hours and is medium difficulty. You can also rent a horse to take you up the hill if you prefer not to hike. Once you reach the top, enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas and the Kangra Valley. You can set up camp at the top and spend the day relaxing and enjoying the scenery. In the evening, head back down the hill and have dinner at Tibet Kitchen for some delicious Tibetan food.
If you have time, make a visit to the Kangra Fort, a historical fort that was built by the royal family of Kangra in the 4th century BC. You can also take a side trip to McLeod Ganj, the home of the Dalai Lama and a center for Tibetan culture and religion. If you're interested in exploring more of the Himalayas, consider taking a trek to Triund Hill or Kareri Lake. For a relaxing afternoon, head to the spa at Rakkh Resort and enjoy a massage or other spa treatments.
