6-Day Itinerary for Delhi, Manali, Dalhousie, and Dharamshala in June 2024

  1. Day 1: Delhi
    Indira Gandhi International Airport to Jama Masjid, 25 km (1 hour)

    In the morning, visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, and take a stroll through the bustling Bazar. After lunch, head to the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore its intricate architecture. In the evening, visit India Gate, a war memorial and popular spot for picnics and evening walks.

  2. Day 2: Manali
    Delhi to Manali, 540 km (13 hours)

    Spend the morning driving to Manali, a picturesque hill station nestled in the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit the Hadimba Temple, a wooden temple dedicated to the goddess Hadimba. Take a stroll through the Manali Mall Road in the evening, and enjoy the local cuisine and handicrafts.

  3. Day 3: Dalhousie
    Manali to Dalhousie, 320 km (9 hours)

    Drive from Manali to Dalhousie, a serene hill station with colonial architecture. Visit the St. John's Church, a popular tourist spot with beautiful stained glass windows. Spend the evening at Panchpula, a scenic picnic spot with waterfalls and a small market for souvenirs.

  4. Day 4: Dalhousie
    Khajjiar to Dalhousie, 20 km (1 hour)

    Take a day trip to Khajjiar, a beautiful meadow surrounded by cedar trees. Visit the Khajji Nag Temple, a shrine dedicated to the serpent god, and take a horse ride through the picturesque landscapes. In the evening, visit the Dalhousie Club, a British-era club with a colonial ambiance.

  5. Day 5: Dharamshala
    Dalhousie to Dharamshala, 120 km (4 hours)

    Drive to Dharamshala, a beautiful hill station known for its Tibetan culture and the residence of the Dalai Lama. In the morning, visit the Norbulingka Institute, a center for Tibetan art and culture. After lunch, visit the Bhagsunath Temple, a Hindu temple with a beautiful waterfall. In the evening, explore the Dalai Lama Temple Complex and the Tibetan market.

  6. Day 6: Dharamshala
    Dharamshala to Gaggal Airport, 15 km (30 minutes)

    Spend your morning at the Kangra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a rich history. After lunch, visit the Tea Garden, where you can taste the famous Kangra tea. In the evening, take a stroll through the McLeod Ganj market and indulge in the local cuisine. Head to Gaggal Airport for your flight back home.
