4-Day Itinerary for Shillong in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Elephant Falls
    20 minutes (8.2 km) from Shillong

    In the morning, visit the beautiful Elephant Falls and take a refreshing dip in the natural pool. Enjoy a scenic drive to the falls through lush green forests and take in the stunning views. In the afternoon, head to the Don Bosco Museum and learn about the cultural and tribal history of the region. In the evening, visit Ward's Lake and enjoy a peaceful boat ride.

  2. Day 2: Mawlynnong Village
    2 hours 30 minutes (90 km) from Shillong

    In the morning, take a scenic drive to the cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong. Stroll around the village and witness the unique living root bridges and breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Riwai Village and witness the balancing rock. In the evening, head back to Shillong and visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians.

  3. Day 3: Dawki and Mawlynnong Waterfall
    2 hours 20 minutes (82 km) from Shillong

    In the morning, drive to the border town of Dawki and enjoy a boat ride on the crystal clear waters of the Umngot river. Witness the natural beauty of the river and the surrounding hills.
