5-Day Itinerary for Ladakh in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa
    10 minutes (3.5 km) from Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport

    In the morning, visit the Leh Palace, a nine-storey palace built in the 17th century. After that, take a 15-minute walk to the nearby Shanti Stupa, a white-domed Buddhist stupa.   2. Day 2: Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

After that, visit the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful Sikh temple built in honor of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.   3. Day 3: Nubra Valley

  4. Day 4: Pangong Tso Lake

    In the morning, drive to Pangong Tso Lake, a beautiful blue lake that stretches from India to China. Spend some time at the lake and enjoy the scenic beauty. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest Buddhist monastery in Ladakh. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and stargazing at your campsite.

  5. Day 5: Tso Moriri Lake
    6 hours (220 km) from Pangong Tso Lake

    In the morning, drive to Tso Moriri Lake, a high-altitude lake known for its clear blue water and surrounding snow-capped mountains. Spend some time at the lake and take a walk around the nearby village. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve, a protected area for rare and endangered species. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show at a nearby campsite.
