Delhi to Adi Kailash, Om Parvart 7-Day Itinerary by Motorcycle

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
    4 hours (155 km) from Delhi

    Start early and head towards Haridwar. On the way, visit the ancient town of Rishikesh known for its yoga and spirituality. Reach Haridwar, a holy city located on the banks of the Ganges, and witness the evening Ganga Aarti.

  2. Day 2: Haridwar to Uttarkashi
    6 hours (170 km) from Haridwar

    Leave Haridwar early morning and ride towards Uttarkashi. En route, stop at the Tehri Dam, one of the highest dams in the world. Reach Uttarkashi, a quaint town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, by evening.

  3. Day 3: Uttarkashi to Gangotri
    3 hours (100 km) from Uttarkashi

    Start your day early and ride to Gangotri, the origin of the Ganges. Visit the Gangotri Temple and take a dip in the icy cold waters of the Ganges. Spend the night at Gangotri.

  4. Day 4: Gangotri to Harsil
    3 hours (80 km) from Gangotri

    Depart from Gangotri and ride to Harsil. En route, stop at the scenic Bhairon Ghati and enjoy the view of the Bhagirathi River. Reach Harsil, a beautiful hamlet situated amidst apple orchards, by afternoon.

  5. Day 5: Harsil to Jhala
    7 hours (200 km) from Harsil

    Leave Harsil early morning and ride to Jhala. En route, stop at the Gangnani hot springs and relax in the warm waters. Reach Jhala, a small town located near the India-China border, by evening.

  6. Day 6: Jhala to Adi Kailash
    1 hour (20 km) from Jhala

    Start your day early and ride to Adi Kailash, one of the five Kailash mountains. Embark on a trek to Om Parvat, a mountain peak revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Spend the night at Adi Kailash.

  7. Day 7: Adi Kailash to Delhi
    20 hours (800 km) from Adi Kailash

    Depart from Adi Kailash early morning and ride back to Delhi. It's a long journey, so make sure to take breaks and rest. Reach Delhi by late evening.

Recommendations

While in Uttarkashi, you can also visit the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering and the Uttarkashi Kashi Vishwanath Temple. For a side trip, you can visit the Yamunotri Temple, located a few hours from Gangotri. Make sure to carry warm clothes, rain gear, and a first-aid kit. Don't forget to acclimatize and stay hydrated during the trek to Om Parvat.
