3-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Goa in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the beaches of North Goa
    30 minutes (12.1 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, head to the famous Baga Beach, known for its lively shacks and water sports. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea or try your hand at jet skiing and parasailing. For lunch, head to Anjuna Beach and try some of the delicious seafood offered by the local shacks. In the afternoon, explore the flea market at Anjuna Beach, where you can find souvenirs, clothes and handicrafts. In the evening, visit the picturesque Vagator Beach and watch the sunset while sipping on a cold drink.

  2. Day 2: Discover the history and culture of Old Goa
    40 minutes (20.8 km) from Baga Beach

    In the morning, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Basilica of Bom Jesus, which houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. Next, head to Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia. For lunch, try some traditional Goan cuisine at the nearby Martin's Corner. In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Museum of Christian Art and the ruins of St. Augustine's Tower. In the evening, take a stroll around Fontainhas, the Latin Quarter of Panaji, known for its colorful houses and vibrant atmosphere.

  3. Day 3: Enjoy nature and adventure in South Goa
    1 hour 10 minutes (43.4 km) from Panaji

    In the morning, head to Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Take a dip in the cool waters and admire the stunning scenery. For lunch, visit the nearby spice plantations and learn about the region's rich spice heritage. In the afternoon, visit the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary and spot some of the local flora and fauna. In the evening, head to Palolem Beach, known for its scenic beauty and nightlife.

Other local attractions worth considering include the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, the Reis Magos Fort and the Cabo de Rama Fort. If you have more time, take a day trip to the idyllic Divar Island or explore the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary.
