Transportation

Osaka has an extensive and efficient public transportation network that includes buses, subways, and trains. A day pass will cost around 1,000 yen which allows you to take all the trains and buses within the city limit. Taxis are available but can be quite expensive, so it's better to avoid them unless you have heavy luggage or need to get somewhere quickly. Within the city, walking can also be quite easy as numerous popular destinations are within walking distance from one another.

Useful Tips

If you have extra time, Osaka offers plenty of other attractions to try out. You can visit Shitennoji Temple or take a stroll in Dotonbori. Additionally, another must visit place is Kobe City, which is only about 30 minutes away by train.

If you have less time, consider skipping Universal Studios Japan and Spa World Osaka. They both take a significant amount of time and are quite expensive, so if you're short on time, it's better to focus on other destinations.

Airports

Osaka has two airports: Osaka International Airport (ITM), which is primarily used for domestic flights, and Kansai International Airport (KIX), which is one of the busiest international airports in Japan. KIX is located on an artificial island about 50 km from the city center. Visitors can take a train, taxi or limousine bus to get to the city center from both airports.
