In the morning, we will head to Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary for nature trails. This sanctuary is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the Indian rock python, sloth bears, and Indian giant squirrels. After lunch, we will help out with the reforestation efforts by planting saplings and maintaining the plantation. In the evening, we will go on a birdwatching tour to spot some of the 200 species of birds found here.
In the morning, we will head to Ganeshgudi Bird Sanctuary for birdwatching activities. This sanctuary is home to over 200 species of birds including the Malabar pied hornbill, blue-throated barbet, and the crested serpent eagle. After lunch, we will assist the staff with maintenance and upkeep of the sanctuary. In the evening, we will interact with the locals and learn about their way of life and culture.
In the morning, we will head to Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary for a jungle safari. The sanctuary is home to tigers, leopards, and black panthers. After lunch, we will volunteer at the sanctuary's animal rescue center where we will learn about the conservation efforts undertaken by the staff. In the evening, we will go on a nature walk to explore the surrounding flora and fauna.
If you have an extra day, visit the Kavala Caves, located within the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also try white water rafting in River Kali or zipline through the forests. Another interesting activity is the night trek to the Sykes point to watch the stars and take in the panoramic view. You can also visit the tribal villages and interact with the locals to learn about their customs and traditions.
If you want to maximize your fun, try to finish your volunteering activities in the morning and explore the town in the afternoon. Visit the local markets and try the street food. You can also visit the Shiroli Peak to catch the sunset.
