Recommendations

You can also consider visiting the Mannar Bird Sanctuary, which is a haven for migratory birds. Another side trip you can take is to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, which is about 3 hours (130 km) from Mannar town. To maximize your fun, make sure to wear comfortable clothes and carry plenty of water and sunscreen. You can also hire a local guide to show you around and provide more information about the places you visit. Finally, don't hesitate to try the local cuisine, which includes seafood, rice dishes, and spicy curries.
