Exploring Srinagar in a Day - June 2023

  1. 9:00AM: Nishat Bagh
    20 minutes (6.9 km) from Srinagar Airport

    Start your day by visiting the beautiful Nishat Bagh, one of the largest Mughal Gardens in India. The garden is decorated with fountains, pools and a variety of colorful flowers. The stunning view of the Dal Lake from the garden is a sight to behold.

    Next, head to the Shalimar Bagh, another enchanting Mughal garden. The garden is divided into three terraces, with a canal running through the middle. The garden is surrounded by majestic Chinar trees and boasts of a beautiful pavilion.

  3. 12:00PM: Hazratbal Shrine
    20 minutes (9.4 km) from Shalimar Bagh

    After the gardens, visit the Hazratbal Shrine, a sacred Muslim shrine located on the banks of Dal Lake.     Post-lunch, drive to the Shankaracharya Hill, which is also known as Takht-e-Suleiman. The hilltop temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and offers panoramic views of the city. The temple is believed to have been built during the reign of Emperor Ashoka and is a popular pilgrimage site.

  6. 4:30PM: Dal Lake
    15 minutes (5.7 km) from Shankaracharya Hill

    End your day by visiting the iconic Dal Lake. Take a shikara ride and explore the floating markets and the floating gardens. The lake is surrounded by hills and offers mesmerizing views of the sunset. You can also try some traditional Kashmiri tea and snacks while on the shikara.
