Arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Take the day to acclimate to the high altitude and explore the city’s Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and colorful markets.
Drive to the Nubra Valley, known for its unique desert landscape and sand dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, with its towering Maitreya Buddha statue, and the Hunder Sand Dunes for a camel ride.
After an early morning start, drive to one of the most beautiful lakes in Ladakh - Pangong Tso Lake. The deep blue water surrounded by mountains makes for a picturesque location. Camp overnight near the lake or return to Leh.
Return to Leh and spend the day visiting the Shey Palace, the Thiksey Monastery, and the Hall of Fame Museum.
Enjoy an adrenaline-filled day white water rafting on the Zanskar River. Experience Class III and IV rapids and take in the stunning landscapes of the Ladakh Himalayas.
Take a break from adventure activities and relax in Leh. Visit the Shanti Stupa for breathtaking views of Leh and its surroundings. Alternatively, take a pottery workshop to learn traditional Ladakhi techniques.
Drive to one of the highest motorable roads in the world - the Khardung La Pass. Take in the incredible views of the surrounding mountains and indulge in some local tea and snacks. Return to Leh.

It is recommended to hire a private taxi for the duration of the trip. Expect to pay around INR 2500-3500 per day, depending on the vehicle type and bargaining skills. Public transportation is minimal and not recommended for tourists. Domestic flights to Leh are available from Delhi, Mumbai, and Srinagar. Prices start at around INR 5000 one-way, and travel time is approximately 1.5-2 hours.
If you have additional time, consider visiting the Tso Moriri Lake, Alchi Monastery, or the Hemis National Park. If you have less time, skip Pangong Tso Lake and spend an extra day in Leh. Be aware that high altitude sickness is common in Ladakh. Take precautions and drink plenty of water. Bring warm clothing, as temperatures can drop drastically at night. Avoid visiting during the winter months (December-February), as many locations are closed due to heavy snowfall.
The Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) is the primary airport serving Leh Ladakh. It is located in Leh and only 3 km from the city center. Daily flights are available from Delhi, Mumbai, and Srinagar, and the airport is connected to major cities in India. Taxis and buses are readily available outside the airport, and the travel time to the city center is 15-20 minutes.
