Start your journey early morning by taking a bus from Delhi ISBT to Rudraprayag. The travel by bus takes around 12-14 hours covering approximately 580 km through picturesque Uttarakhand hills.
Begin the moderate 3.5 km uphill trek to Tungnath Temple, which takes about 2-3 hours. The temple is the highest Shiva temple in the world, surrounded by beautiful Himalayan views.
Carry packed lunch or have simple meals at small shops near the temple. Enjoy local snacks like aloo ke gutke and chai while soaking in serene mountain views.
Optionally continue trekking another 1.5 km from Tungnath to Chandrashila Peak for stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. The round trip to Chandrashila and back to Tungnath is 2-3 hours.
After early breakfast, take a taxi or shared jeep for the 3-hour descent and drive to Devprayag, where the rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi merge to form the Ganges.
Visit the ancient Raghunathji Temple, meditate by the sacred river confluence, and stroll along the scenic ghats. It's a peaceful cultural and spiritual experience.
