Gujrat Family-Friendly 4-day Itinerary in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Ahmedabad
    25 minutes (5.4 miles) from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Sabarmati Ashram, the former residence of Mahatma Gandhi where he spent many years. Then, head to the Calico Museum of Textiles, one of India's leading textile museums featuring a vast collection of Indian textiles and artifacts. In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques, then spend some time at Kankaria Lake, a popular recreational spot in Ahmedabad. Finally, take a heritage walk through the old city to admire the intricate architecture of the historical buildings.

  2. Day 2: Vadodara
    2 hours 30 minutes (71.8 miles) from Ahmedabad

    Start the day by exploring the beautiful Laxmi Vilas Palace, a stunning palace complex that showcases a blend of Indian and European architecture. Then, visit Sayaji Baug, a sprawling garden that houses a zoo, a museum, and several other attractions.     Drive to Somnath, an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. Begin by visiting the iconic Somnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Explore the beautiful surroundings of the temple and relax by the sea. In the afternoon, visit the Bhalka Tirth, a temple that marks the spot where Lord Krishna was mistakenly shot by an arrow. End the day with a lovely sunset by the beach.
