Aside from the main attractions, you may also want to visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, a mangrove forest that is home to many bird species. Or take a spice plantation tour and learn about the cultivation of cinnamon, cardamom, and other spices. For a side trip, consider visiting the nearby state of Karnataka and exploring the ancient ruins of Hampi. To maximize your fun, rent a scooter or a bicycle and explore Goa at your own pace. Don't forget to try the local cashew feni, a liquor made from cashew fruit.
