4-Day Itinerary for Goa in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Fort Aguada
    1 hour (12.6 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    Fort Aguada is a 17th-century Portuguese fort that offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. Start your day with a visit to this historical landmark, explore the lighthouse, and stroll around the surrounding gardens. In the afternoon, head to Sinquerim Beach and indulge in various water sports like parasailing, jet-skiing, and banana boat rides. In the evening, enjoy a mesmerizing sunset at Candolim Beach, followed by dinner at one of the seaside shacks.

  2. Day 2: Anjuna Flea Market
    30 minutes (10.5 miles) from Candolim Beach

    The Anjuna Flea market is a must-visit for all shopaholics. Here you can find everything from clothes to souvenirs, jewelry to handicrafts. Spend your morning shopping, bargaining and tasting mouth-watering street food. Afterward, visit the Chapora Fort, a famous filming location of the movie Dil Chahta Hai. From the fort, you can enjoy a view of the Vagator Beach. In the evening, relax at the beach shacks of Vagator Beach while enjoying live music and delicious seafood.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    2 hours (48.5 miles) from Vagator Beach

    Dudhsagar Waterfalls is one of the most stunning natural wonders of Goa. The best way to reach this waterfall is by taking a train from Kulem. The train journey itself is a unique experience, with beautiful views of rural Goa. You can take a dip in the cool, refreshing water of the waterfall or enjoy the surrounding greenery. On your way back, enjoy a scenic drive through the spice plantations of Ponda. Stop at the Sahakari Spice Farm to learn about the various spices grown here and have a delicious Goan lunch.

  4. Day 4: Old Goa Churches
    30 minutes (16.5 miles) from Panaji

    Start your day by visiting the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. Next, visit the Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia. Take a stroll around the Old Goa area and explore the various colonial buildings, museums, and art galleries. In the evening, head to Panaji, the capital city of Goa, to enjoy the nightlife. Visit the casinos, pubs, and bars on the Mandovi Riverfront and end your trip with a bang!

If you have more time, you can consider visiting the famous Calangute Beach, the Aguada Jail, the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, or taking a crocodile spotting tour of the Cumbarjua Canal. You can also plan a day trip to the nearby Gokarna or Hampi. To maximize your fun, try taking a hot air balloon ride over the Goan countryside or enjoying a sunrise or sunset river cruise.
