Two-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Jamshedpur in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Jubilee Park
    15-minute drive (3.5 km) from Sonari Airport

    Morning: Start your day with a refreshing walk among the lush greenery of Jubilee Park, spread over 225 acres. A popular picnic spot, the park houses several gardens, a lake, and a zoo. You can also check out the Tata Steel Zoological Park inside the park, which is home to over 50 species of animals, birds, and reptiles.

    Afternoon: Head to Tata Steel Zoological Park to explore the animals at your own pace. The park is open from 9 am to 5 pm.

    Evening: Take a stroll along the Jubilee Walk, a well-maintained pathway that runs through the park. You can also visit the Jayanti Sarovar lake to enjoy the scenic sunset view.

  2. Day 2: Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary
    1-hour 30-minute drive (36 km) from Jubilee Park

    Morning: Start early and head to Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, a dense forest area that covers 193 sq km. The sanctuary is a habitat for several species of animals, including elephants, leopards, and bison. You can also visit the Kali Temple, a popular attraction inside the sanctuary.

    Afternoon: Stop for a picnic lunch at one of the designated areas inside the sanctuary, and enjoy the serene surroundings.

    Evening: Take a guided safari tour and spot some of the wildlife that resides in the sanctuary. The safari timings are from 5.30 am to 10 am and 3 pm to 5.30 pm.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit Tata Steel Plant, which is one of the largest steel producers in the world. You can take a guided tour of the plant and learn about the steel-making process.

You may also consider a side trip to the Rankini Mandir, a popular temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali. The temple is located around 45 km from Jamshedpur and is known for its scenic surroundings.

To maximize your fun, try the local street food, which includes chaat, samosas, and jalebis. You can also shop for handicrafts and souvenirs at the local markets.
