4-Day Itinerary for Coorg via. Train: Forest and Nature Tour

  1. Day 1: Explore Madikeri
    5 minutes (0.6 miles) from Madikeri Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Raja's Seat, a beautiful garden with a stunning view of the valley. In the afternoon, head to Abbey Falls and enjoy the scenic beauty of the waterfalls. In the evening, visit the Madikeri Fort and museum to learn about the history of Coorg.

  2. Day 2: Ride through the Forests
    1 hour (28 miles) from Madikeri

    In the morning, rent a motorcycle and ride through the Nagarhole National Park. Take breaks to spot some wildlife and enjoy the serene environment. In the afternoon, visit the Iruppu Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch. In the evening, ride to the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary and take a short trek to the Brahmagiri Peak to see the sun setting over the Western Ghats.

  3. Day 3: Coorg Countryside
    1 hour 30 minutes (43 miles) from Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

    In the morning, ride to the Dubare Elephant Camp and watch the elephants bathe and play in the river. In the afternoon, ride to the Chiklihole Dam and enjoy a picnic lunch. In the evening, visit the Nisargadhama Forest and take a leisurely walk around the island. You can also go on a boat ride in the river Cauvery.

  4. Day 4: Coffee and Spices Tour
    1 hour (24 miles) from Nisargadhama Forest

    In the morning, ride to the Dubare coffee and spice estate to learn about the process of coffee and spice production. In the afternoon, visit the Tibetan Monastery and Golden Temple and learn about the Tibetan culture and history. In the evening, visit the Omkareshwara temple, a beautiful mix of Islamic and Gothic architecture, and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Coorg is a beautiful place with many local attractions. You can also consider visiting the Kaveri Nisargadhama, Barapole River, Gaddige Raja's Tomb, or the Talacauvery.
