Rajasthan Family Friendly 4-Day Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Jaipur
    30 minutes (8.5 miles) from Jaipur International Airport

    Start your morning with a visit to the Amber Fort, a stunning palace complex dating back to the 16th century. Take a guided tour to learn about the history and architecture of this impressive site. After lunch, head to the City Palace to see the art and artifacts of the royal family. End your day with a visit to Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the 18th century.

  2. Day 2: Jaisalmer
    10 hours (400 miles) from Jaipur

    Take a morning flight to Jaisalmer to explore the Golden City. Start with a visit to the Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 12th century. Walk around the narrow streets and admire the intricate carvings on the buildings. In the afternoon, visit the Patwon Ki Haveli, a stunning 19th-century mansion filled with art and artifacts. End the day with a camel ride in the nearby sand dunes.

  3. Day 3: Udaipur
    9 hours (330 miles) from Jaisalmer

    Make your way to Udaipur, also known as the Venice of the East. Start your day with a visit to the City Palace, a massive complex of palaces, gardens, and museums. After lunch, head to the Jagdish Temple, a 17th-century temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the evening, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola and enjoy the stunning views of the city and surrounding hills.

  4. Day 4: Pushkar
    4 hours (150 miles) from Udaipur

    End your trip with a visit to the holy city of Pushkar, known for its beautiful lake and temples. Start with a visit to the Brahma Temple, one of the only temples in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. After lunch, take a dip in the holy waters of Pushkar Lake and visit the numerous ghats surrounding the lake. End your day with a visit to the bustling bazaars of Pushkar, where you can shop for souvenirs and traditional Rajasthani crafts.

Recommendations

Don't miss the chance to visit the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, one of the largest forts in India. If you have more time, consider taking a side trip to the Ranthambore National Park, where you can see tigers in their natural habitat. To maximize your fun, try some of the local Rajasthani cuisine, such as daal baati churma and ghevar. Finally, be sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen and hats to protect yourself from the hot Rajasthan sun.
