Chikmagalur Adventure Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri
    1 hour 20 minutes (24.8 miles) from Chikmagalur

    Begin your adventure trip by hiking up to Mullayanagiri peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. The trek takes around 3 hours to reach the top and is a moderately difficult trek. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Western Ghats from the top, and have a quick breakfast at the summit. In the afternoon, visit the Baba Budangiri shrine, a pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Muslims. Experience the tranquil environment and the scenic views of the hill ranges. End your day with a visit to the Hebbe Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by dense forests.

  2. Day 2: Kudremukh National Park
    2 hours 40 minutes (57.9 miles) from Chikmagalur

    Embark on a wildlife adventure at Kudremukh National Park. Take a guided trek to explore the lush green forests and spot various species of flora and fauna. The park is also home to the Kudremukh peak, which offers a stunning view of the surrounding forests. In the evening, visit the Coffee Museum to learn about the history and culture of coffee plantations in Chikmagalur. Sample some fresh coffee and buy some beans to take back home. Take a dip in the Hebbe Falls, which is located closeby and also visit the Kalhatti Falls. In the afternoon, visit the Raj Bhavan, a summer retreat for the Governor of Karnataka, which is open for public visits. End the day with a jeep ride to the Baba Budan Giri hills for another scenic view of the mountains and valleys.
