3-Day Adventurous Itinerary in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Bungee Jumping in Mohan Chatti
    1 hour (13.5 km) from Rishikesh

    In the morning, we will drive to the Mohan Chatti, the bungee jumping capital of India. Experience the thrill of jumping off a 83-meter high platform while being harnessed to an elastic rope. Afterward, we will relax and have lunch at a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the Neer Garh Waterfall, a picturesque waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. In the evening, we will visit the Triveni Ghat, one of the most sacred spots in Rishikesh, to witness the Ganga Aarti Ceremony.

  2. Day 2: White Water Rafting and Cliff Jumping
    30 minutes (16 km) from Mohan Chatti

    Today, we will experience the thrill of white water rafting on the Ganges River. The rapids vary from Grade II to Grade IV, providing an exciting adventure for all levels of rafters. After the rafting adventure, we will try cliff jumping into the river. In the afternoon, we will visit the Beatles Ashram, a spiritual retreat where the famous band once stayed and composed music. In the evening, we will visit the Parmarth Niketan, a famous ashram, to experience a yoga and meditation session.

  3. Day 3: Trek to the Top of Kunjapuri Temple
    1 hour 20 minutes (28 km) from Rishikesh

    Today, we will hike to the Kunjapuri Temple, located at an altitude of 1,676 meters above sea level. The trek offers stunning views of the Himalayas and passes through scenic villages and forests. After reaching the temple, we will witness the sunrise and enjoy a delicious breakfast at a nearby cafe. In the afternoon, we will visit the Rajaji National Park, a wildlife sanctuary home to elephants, tigers, and other animals. In the evening, we will return to Rishikesh to enjoy a relaxing Ayurvedic massage.

Recommendations

Apart from the above itinerary, you can also consider visiting the Vashishta Gufa, located on the banks of the Ganges and is believed to be the meditation spot of Sage Vashishta. Side trips to Mussoorie, a hill station located 77 km from Rishikesh, can also be planned. To maximize your fun, you can try other adventure sports like zip-lining, flying fox, or kayaking. Don't forget to try the local street food and shop for souvenirs in the local markets.
