Western NC Waterfall Adventure Itinerary

Day 1: Journey & Waterfall Exploration

Morning: Depart from Mooresville, NC early Friday morning and drive towards Western North Carolina. Your first stop will be Dry Falls, where you can walk behind the cascading water for a unique experience.

Afternoon: Head to Moore Cove Falls, a short hike that ends at a beautiful waterfall you can walk behind. Afterward, visit Bridal Veil Falls, an easy-to-access waterfall where you can drive underneath the falls for a fun photo opportunity.

Evening: Settle into your dog-friendly campground near water. The Bee Tree Campground in Pisgah National Forest is highly recommended for its proximity to streams and dog-friendly facilities. Enjoy a relaxing evening by the water with your furry friend.

Day 2: More Waterfalls & Return

Morning: After breakfast, drive to Douglas Falls, a stunning and less crowded waterfall with a moderately challenging hike. Then continue to Picklesimer Rock House Falls, where you’ll enjoy a picturesque hike through the forest.

Afternoon: Visit Slick Rock Falls, another accessible waterfall ideal for a picnic lunch and dog-friendly exploration around the water. Begin your journey back towards Mooresville in the late afternoon.

Evening: Arrive back in Mooresville, unwind from the adventure, and reflect on the beauty of Western NC’s waterfalls.
