The most convenient way to get around Shiraz is by taxi or private car rental. Fares are relatively cheap, and the traffic is not too congested outside of rush hours. A taxi from the city centre to Persepolis costs around 500,000 rials.

Shiraz International Airport (SYZ) is the main airport serving the city, located around 9 miles north-west of the city centre. The airport has domestic and international flights, including flights to cities in Europe and the Middle East. Taxis and rental cars are available at the airport for transport into the city.
