4-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary from Delhi to Kedarnath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
    4 hours 30 minutes (149.6 km) from Delhi

    In the morning, visit the Lotus Temple, a stunning worship center with 27 marble petals and surrounded by nine pools of water. Afterward, head to the Haridwar, the "Gateway to God." In the afternoon, visit the Har Ki Pauri, a ghat on the Ganges River that is considered holy. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti, a Hindu ritual where lamps are lit and offered to the river.

  2. Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi
    8 hours 30 minutes (225 km) from Haridwar

    In the morning, visit the Mansa Devi Temple, a famous Hindu temple on top of a hill. Afterward, proceed to Guptkashi, a beautiful town known for its scenic beauty. In the afternoon, visit the Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and built in 1887 AD. In the evening, explore the local markets and try some local delicacies.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi to Kedarnath

    In the morning, take a helicopter ride from Guptkashi to Kedarnath, one of the four sacred shrines of Hinduism. Afterward, visit the Kedarnath Temple, which is believed to have been built by the Pandavas. In the afternoon, take a dip in the holy pond at the temple complex. In the evening, attend the evening aarti at the temple.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath to Delhi
    9 hours 30 minutes by car and 3 hours 35 minutes by helicopter (179 km) from Kedarnath

    In the morning, take a helicopter ride from Kedarnath to Guptkashi and then a car from Guptkashi to Delhi. On the way, visit the Tehri Dam, the highest dam in India. In the afternoon, visit the India Gate, a war memorial built in 1931. In the evening, visit the Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in the world made of bricks.
