Exploring Family-Friendly Goa in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest churches in Goa. Learn about the history and architecture from the knowledgeable guides. For lunch, head to the nearby food stalls and try the famous Goan fish curry. Spend the afternoon at Miramar Beach, building sandcastles and enjoying the calm waves. In the evening, explore the Fontainhas neighbourhood and admire the colourful Portuguese-style houses.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
    2 hours 30 minutes (46 miles) from Panaji

    Spend the day amidst nature at the Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Take a train ride to the falls and enjoy the scenic views. Take a refreshing dip in the natural pool below the falls or go on a nature walk to spot some wildlife. For lunch, pack a picnic or stop by the local dhabas. Return to your hotel in the evening and relax by the pool or spa.

  3. Day 3: Goa State Museum
    30 minutes (12 miles) from Calangute Beach

    In the morning, learn about the art, culture and history of Goa at the Goa State Museum. Take the guided tour to understand the significance of the artefacts and paintings. For lunch, try out the local street food at the nearby market. Spend the afternoon at the Calangute Beach, swimming and sunbathing. In the evening, head to the Mapusa market for some souvenir shopping and street performances.

  4. Day 4: Spice Plantations of Ponda
    45 minutes (19 miles) from Margao

    Visit the Spice Plantations of Ponda and take a guided tour of the plantation to learn about various herbs and spices. Sample some freshly prepared local food cooked with the spices. Spend the afternoon at the nearby Butterfly Conservatory or the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. In the evening, take a stroll at the nearby Kesarval Spring or visit the nearby churches. End the day with a delicious Goan thali for dinner.
