Everything you need to create the perfect banner for your sponsored itineraries on Plantrip.io

Recommended Banner Size

1200 × 200 pixels

Universal Responsive Banner (6:1 aspect ratio)

Desktop
Fills the full content width (1140px max)
Tablet
Scales down proportionally
Mobile
Automatically resizes to fit screen
Aspect Ratio
6:1 (wide like a traditional banner)
Why this size? Plantrip uses Bootstrap 5 with containers that max out at 1140px on large screens. A 1200px wide banner ensures full coverage while scaling perfectly on smaller devices using responsive image technology.

File Requirements

  • Maximum file size: 2MB
  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
  • Recommended format: PNG (for transparency) or JPG (for photos)
  • Compression: Optimize images before upload for faster page loading (under 500KB recommended)

Design Best Practices

Keep It Simple

  • Logo: Make it clearly visible
  • Text: Keep minimal - remember it scales down on mobile
  • Colors: Use high contrast for readability
  • Call-to-Action: If you include one, make it prominent
  • Resolution: At least 72 DPI (higher is better for retina displays)

Important Notes

  • The entire banner is clickable (links to your URL)
  • Banner automatically scales to fit all screen sizes
  • Works in landscape orientation (6:1 ratio)
  • Avoid text smaller than 14pt (will be hard to read on mobile)

Quick Start Guide

Choose one of these approaches to create your 1200×200 banner:

Option 1: Simple Text Banner
  • Solid color background (use your brand color)
  • Your logo (left or center)
  • Short tagline: "Your Trusted Travel Partner"
  • Keep it clean and readable
Option 2: Photo Banner
  • Use a high-quality travel/destination photo
  • Overlay your logo (with drop shadow for visibility)
  • Optional: Small text CTA like "Explore More"
Option 3: Professional Design
  • Hire a designer on Fiverr/99designs
  • Provide them: "1200×200 banner for web, must scale on mobile"
  • Share your logo and brand colors
What to Avoid
  • Too much text (will be hard to read on mobile)
  • Complex designs with tiny details
  • Low resolution images (use at least 72 DPI)
  • Text smaller than 14pt

How Your Banner Works

Banner Display

When an image is uploaded:

  • Image displays as a clickable banner above the itinerary
  • Full image is clickable and links to your URL
  • Responsive scaling to fit all devices
  • Rounded corners for a modern look
Without Image (Text Fallback)

If no image is provided:

  • Shows "Sponsored Content" alert box
  • Displays your company name prominently
  • Shows description if provided
  • Shows clickable button with your company name

Integration with Sponsored Links

Remember: The banner image is just the visual component. All activity links on the itinerary page will automatically use your link when the sponsorship is active:

  • Banner image → Links to your URL
  • Activity links (e.g., "Santa Monica Pier") → Also link to your URL
