4-Day Itinerary for Berlin in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Berlin Wall Memorial
    15 minutes (2.3 km) from Berlin Tegel Airport

    In the morning, visit the Berlin Wall Memorial, which is dedicated to the division of Berlin by the Wall. You can see a preserved section of the wall and learn about the history of the GDR and Stasi. In the afternoon, head to the Brandenburg Gate, one of the most famous landmarks in Germany. Take a stroll down Unter den Linden and visit the Reichstag building, which houses the German parliament. In the evening, enjoy a dinner at the rooftop restaurant of the Reichstag building, with panoramic views of the city.

  2. Day 2: Berlin Zoo and Aquarium
    25 minutes (6.8 km) from Berlin Wall Memorial

    In the morning, head to the Berlin Zoo and Aquarium, which is the oldest and most famous zoo in Germany. You can see over 20,000 animals from all over the world. In the afternoon, visit the Charlottenburg Palace, which is the largest palace in Berlin. Take a stroll in the palace gardens and visit the Porcelain Collection. In the evening, have dinner at one of the many restaurants in the trendy neighborhood of Kreuzberg.

  3. Day 3: Museum Island
    20 minutes (5.6 km) from Berlin Zoo and Aquarium

    In the morning, visit Museum Island, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can see some of the most famous museums in the world, such as the Pergamon Museum, the Bode Museum, and the Neues Museum. In the afternoon, take a stroll in the Tiergarten, which is the largest park in Berlin. Visit the Berlin Victory Column and enjoy the panoramic views of the city. In the evening, head to the Friedrichstraße, which is one of the most famous shopping streets in Berlin.

  4. Day 4: East Side Gallery and Nightlife
    25 minutes (6.5 km) from Museum Island

    In the morning, visit the East Side Gallery, which is a 1.3 km-long section of the Berlin Wall that has been turned into an open-air gallery. You can see over 100 paintings by artists from all over the world. In the afternoon, head to the Mauerpark, which is a popular park in Berlin. You can see street performers, musicians, and artists. In the evening, explore the nightlife in Berlin, which is one of the best in Europe. Visit a club, a bar, or a concert venue in the districts of Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, or Mitte.

Recommendations

If you have extra time in Berlin, consider visiting the Jewish Museum Berlin, the Berlin Philharmonic, or the Berliner Dom. For a side trip, you could visit Potsdam, which is a beautiful city with many palaces and parks. To maximize your fun, try some of the local street food such as Currywurst, Döner Kebab, or Berliner Pfannkuchen.
