Three-Day Itinerary for Leh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Leh
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport

    In the morning, head to the Leh Palace, which offers an amazing view of the city. For lunch, try local delicacies at Gesmo restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist white-domed stupa on a hilltop. In the evening, explore the local market and shop for souvenirs.

  2. Day 2: Visit Monasteries
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Leh

    Start the day by visiting Thiksey Monastery, which houses a 40-foot high statue of Maitreya Buddha. For lunch, stop at the nearby Thiksey Monastery Restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Hemis Monastery, the biggest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. In the evening, head back to Leh and have dinner at Bon Appetit restaurant.

  3. Day 3: Nubra Valley
    4 hours (121 km) from Leh

    Take a day trip to the breathtaking Nubra Valley. Visit the Diskit Monastery, with a 100-foot Maitreya Buddha statue, and enjoy a camel ride on the sand dunes of Hunder. Have lunch at the organic restaurant at Nubra Ecolodge. On the way back, stop at Khardungla, the highest motorable road in the world, for a photo opportunity. In the evening, relax at the hotel.
