Hyderabad in August 2023 - A 3-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    25 minutes (6.8 km) from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

    In the morning, visit Charminar, a magnificent monument and mosque built in 1591. Climb up the spiral staircase to reach the top and enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. For lunch, head to the nearby Laad Bazaar, famous for its traditional bangles and pearls. In the afternoon, visit Chowmahalla Palace, a stunning 18th-century palace that used to be the seat of the Nizams of Hyderabad. In the evening, attend a sound and light show at Golconda Fort, a historic fortress that dates back to the 13th century.

  2. Day 2: Hussain Sagar Lake
    25 minutes (7.6 km) from Charminar

    Start the day with a visit to Birla Mandir, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. Afterward, head to Hussain Sagar Lake, a large man-made lake that separates Hyderabad from Secunderabad. Take a boat ride to the Buddha Statue, a 17-meter tall statue of Gautama Buddha located on an island in the middle of the lake. For lunch, try the famous Hyderabad biryani at the nearby Paradise Restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Salar Jung Museum, one of the largest museums in the world, with a vast collection of art and artifacts from all over the world. In the evening, visit Lumbini Park and enjoy a laser show.

  3. Day 3: Ramoji Film City
    1 hour 25 minutes (37.5 km) from Hussain Sagar Lake

    On the last day, take a day trip to Ramoji Film City, the largest film studio in the world. It has everything from movie sets to amusement parks to adventure activities. Spend the whole day exploring the many attractions and activities available. Return to Hyderabad in the evening and head to Shilparamam, an arts and crafts village that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Telangana. In the evening, enjoy a sumptuous dinner at the famous Paradise Restaurant.

Hyderabad has many other attractions that you may want to consider, such as Golkonda Fort, Mecca Masjid, and Qutb Shahi Tombs. You can also take a day trip to the nearby Nagarjuna Sagar Dam or Warangal Fort.
