Trains are the most convenient mode of transportation to travel within Switzerland. For this itinerary, we recommend purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass, which provides unlimited train travel across the country and free admission to museums and other attractions. The cost of a 5-day Swiss Travel Pass for adults is approximately $440. Private car transfers can be arranged for point-to-point transfers, but are not necessary and could be costly.
If you have more time, consider visiting Zermatt to see the Matterhorn or St. Moritz for a luxury mountain retreat. If you have less time, skip Montreux and extend your stay in Interlaken or Lucerne. Don't forget to pack a good pair of walking shoes, a light jacket, and cash for tipping.
Zurich Airport (ZRH), also known as Kloten Airport, is Switzerland's largest international airport located about 13 km (8 mi) north of the city center. It is well-connected with public transportation, including trains, trams, and buses.
