2-Day Itinerary for Ooty in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    11 minutes (3.2 miles) from Ooty Lake

    Start your day by visiting Doddabetta Peak, which is the highest point in the Nilgiri Mountains. Enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and hills from the top. Have a cup of tea and some local snacks from the vendors. Spend your afternoon at the beautiful Ooty Lake. You can enjoy boating, horse-riding and a mini train ride around the lake. In the evening, visit the Government Botanical Garden, which is spread over 55 acres. This garden is home to a variety of exotic plants and flowers, more than 650 species of them. You can also explore the fossil tree trunk which is believed to be 20 million years old.

  2. Day 2: Avalanche Lake
    1 hour 10 minutes (26 miles) from Doddabetta Peak

    On your second day, visit the Avalanche Lake, which is a paradise for nature lovers. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees, and you can enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the lake. After that, head to the Pykara Waterfalls, which is a stunning cascade of waterfalls. Have a picnic lunch and enjoy the serene beauty of the falls. In the evening, visit the Wax World Museum, which has a collection of wax statues of famous personalities from India and around the world. The museum also has a small souvenir shop where you can buy some gifts for your loved ones.
