Exploring Sikkim in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gangtok
    30 minutes (17.3 km) from Pakyong Airport

    Visit the Rumtek Monastery in the morning to witness the morning prayers. Spend the afternoon exploring the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. End the day with a stroll at MG Marg.

  2. Day 2: Pelling
    2 hours 20 minutes (74.4 km) from Gangtok

    Start the day early and visit the Sanga Choeling Monastery for a scenic sunrise. Head to Pemayangtse Monastery in the afternoon and end the day with a visit to Khecheopalri Lake which is known for its crystal-clear water.

  3. Day 3: Ravangla

    Explore the Buddha Park in the morning and witness the magnificent statue of Buddha. After lunch, head to Mainam Hill for a beautiful view of the Himalayas. End the day with a visit to the Ralong Monastery.

  4. Day 4: Yuksom
    2 hours 20 minutes (44.7 km) from Ravangla

    Spend the day exploring Yuksom, the first capital of Sikkim. Visit the Dubdi Monastery and Coronation Throne in the morning. After lunch, head to Khecheopalri Lake and the Khangchendzonga National Park for a scenic hike.

  5. Day 5: Lachung
    6 hours (121.5 km) from Yuksom

    Start the day early for a long drive to Lachung. Stop at Singhik Viewpoint for a panoramic view of Mount Khangchendzonga. End the day with a visit to the Yumthang Valley to see the beautiful flowers in bloom.

  6. Day 6: Gangtok
    6 hours (121 km) from Lachung

    Head back to Gangtok and spend the day exploring the city's local markets. Visit the Enchey Monastery and the Ganesh Tok viewpoint for a beautiful sunset. End the day with a traditional Sikkimese dinner.

  7. Day 7: Tsomgo Lake
    1 hour 30 minutes (39.1 km) from Gangtok

    Spend the day at Tsomgo Lake, a pristine lake located at an altitude of 12,313 feet. After lunch, head to Baba Mandir and Nathula Pass for a glimpse of the Indo-China border.
