Darjeeling Bachelor Party - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Darjeeling Mall Road
    5 minutes (0.5 miles) from Darjeeling Train Station

    Start the day with a stroll at the Darjeeling Mall Road, famous for its shops, restaurants and cafes. Take a break and have brunch at the iconic Glenary's Bakery and Restaurant. Afternoon can be spent visiting the Himalayan Tibet Museum to learn about the Tibetan culture and history. Evening can be enjoyed at the Buzz Bar, one of the popular bars in Darjeeling.

  2. Day 2: Tiger Hill and Batasia Loop
    45 minutes (11.8 miles) from Darjeeling Mall Road

    Start early and head to the Tiger Hill to watch the sunrise over the Kanchenjunga and the Eastern Himalayas. On the way back, stop at the Batasia Loop and enjoy a scenic train ride through the mountains. Spend the afternoon at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park to learn about mountaineering and see the endangered Snow Leopard. End the day with a barbecue dinner at the popular Joey's Pub and Grill.

  3. Day 3: Darjeeling Tea Plantations and Monasteries
    30 minutes (7.1 miles) from Tiger Hill

    Start the day with a visit to the Happy Valley Tea Estate, one of the oldest tea plantations in Darjeeling. Take a tour of the tea factory and learn about the tea making process. Afternoon can be spent visiting the Ghum Monastery, the largest monastery in Darjeeling and the Japanese Peace Pagoda, a beautiful pagoda with stunning views of the Himalayas. End the day with dinner and drinks at the popular Hasty Tasty Restaurant and Bar.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to the nearby town of Kalimpong or taking a scenic toy train ride from Darjeeling to Siliguri. For adventure activities, you can go trekking to Sandakphu or go river rafting in the Teesta River. Don't forget to try the local cuisines especially momos, thukpas and Tibetan bread.
