Transportation

Chicago has an extensive and efficient public transportation system using buses and trains. The Ventra card can be used to pay for fares, and transfers are available. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also popular, although some attractions can use up to 40 minutes away. Consider purchasing a CityPASS for access to some of the top attractions and discounts on transportation.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Adler Planetarium or the Art Institute of Chicago. If you're looking for outdoor activities, visit the Garfield Park Conservatory or take a bike ride on the Lakefront Trail. If you have less time, plan your visit to Navy Pier to have the most time there. Avoid scheduling multiple indoor activities in one day.

Airports

Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is located 17 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Midway International Airport (MDW) is located 10 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Both airports are served by major airlines and have various options for transportation to downtown Chicago, including taxis, rideshare, public transportation or car rentals.
