Bachelorette Party Itinerary for Wayanad in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam
    1 hour 30 minutes (35.8 km) from Calicut International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the crystal clear water. Take a boat ride to explore the area. In the afternoon, head to the Pookode Lake, a serene freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery. Take a pedal boat ride to get up close and personal with nature. In the evening, visit the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad, and take a short trek to the heart-shaped lake on top of the hill.

  2. Day 2: Edakkal Caves

    Spend the morning at Edakkal Caves, one of the oldest human settlements in India. Trek up the Ambukuthi hills to reach the caves and admire the prehistoric carvings. In the afternoon, head to the Soochipara Waterfalls, where you can enjoy the cool mist and scenic beauty. Take a dip in the pool at the bottom of the falls if you dare. In the evening, visit the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu that is surrounded by mountains and forests.

  3. Day 3: Kuruva Island
    1 hour 24 minutes (42.5 km) from Edakkal Caves

    Start your day at Kuruva Island, a group of uninhabited islands in the middle of the Kabini River. Take a bamboo raft ride to explore the rich flora and fauna of the island. In the afternoon, visit the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area that is home to a variety of endangered species. Take a jeep safari to spot elephants, tigers, and leopards. In the evening, head to the Lakkidi Viewpoint, the highest point in Wayanad, to watch the sunset over the valleys.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, the Jain Temple at Sulthan Bathery, or the Kozhikode Beach.
