Flexible Multi-City Travel Itinerary Outline

Day 1 · Sun, Apr 19
Singapore

Arrival and first city base

  1. Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck (Marina Bay) — Best first-night overview of the skyline and bay; do this early evening, ~1 hour.
  2. Gardens by the Bay – Supertree Grove (Bay South Garden) — A classic Singapore night-walk with the light show if timing lines up; evening, ~1 hour.
  3. Satay by the Bay (Gardens by the Bay) — Easy local dinner with hawker-style satay and seafood; evening, ~1–1.5 hours, approx. SGD 15–30 per person.
  4. Cavenagh Bridge / Singapore River promenade (Boat Quay / Clarke Quay) — A relaxed post-dinner stroll with great river views and a gentle first-night pace; late evening, ~45 minutes.

Early Evening

Start with Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck around sunset if you can — that’s the sweet spot for your first look at Singapore. The view gives you the whole mental map in one sweep: Marina Bay, the CBD, Gardens by the Bay, and the shipping lanes beyond. Tickets are usually around SGD 32–35 for adults, and the deck is typically open from late morning into the evening, with last entry before closing. A taxi or Grab from most central hotels is the easiest move here, but if you’re already near the bay, the Bayfront MRT walk is straightforward and air-conditioned almost the whole way.

Night Walk and Dinner

From there, head straight to Gardens by the Bay – Supertree Grove for the evening light show; it’s one of those very-Singapore first-night rituals that never feels too touristy when you’re standing under it in person. The free light and music show usually runs nightly, and if you arrive a little early you can grab a good spot without rushing. Afterward, walk over to Satay by the Bay for dinner — it’s casual, lively, and the right kind of low-effort after a travel day. Go for satay skewers, sugarcane juice, maybe chili crab if you want a splurge; most people spend about SGD 15–30, and stalls generally stay open into the late evening. It’s an easy, no-fuss meal where you can eat with the city lights in view and not worry about dressing up or booking ahead.

Late Evening

Wrap up with a slow stroll along Cavenagh Bridge / Singapore River promenade near Boat Quay and Clarke Quay. This is the best “first evening” walk in town: the riverfront is breezy, the skyline reflections are gorgeous after dark, and the route is flat and simple even if you’re tired. It’s about a 10–15 minute taxi or Grab from Gardens by the Bay, or you can hop the MRT if you’d rather save the ride money. Keep it unhurried — this is less about seeing everything and more about letting Singapore settle in a bit before tomorrow.
