Paris Family-Friendly Itinerary

  • Day 1: The Eiffel Tower
    10 minutes (2 miles) from the Arc de Triomphe - Champs-Élysées Avenue

The highlight of the park is the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution. The gallery displays over 7,000 preserved specimens of animals, fish, and insects, making it a fascinating museum for kids and adults.

  • Day 3: Disneyland Paris
    1 hour (25 miles) from Jardin des Plantes

    Disneyland Paris is a magical amusement park that offers fun for the whole family. Here, you can meet your favourite Disney characters and take amazing pictures in front of Disney's Castle. Make sure to take a ride on "It's a Small World," a classic Disney attraction.

  • Day 4: Luxembourg Gardens
    30 minutes (4 miles) from Disneyland Paris

    Located in the heart of Paris, Luxembourg Gardens is a beautiful park with a lot of attractions. Rent a classic French boat and navigate the pond, relax at one of the many chairs scattered throughout the garden or let your little ones play in the playground. It's a great place for a family picnic too!

  • Day 5: Musée Grévin (Grevin Wax Museum)
    20 minutes (3 miles) from Luxembourg Gardens

    Musée Grévin is a wax museum that features over 450 famous people, including actors, singers, athletes, and politicians, in its collection. Recent additions to the collection include Spiderman, Iron Man, and Captain America. The wax figures are amazingly lifelike, making this a fun stop for the whole family.

Transportation

Paris has an extensive metro system that is easy to use and cost-effective. You can purchase a "Paris Visite" pass that provides unlimited travel on the metro, buses, and RER trains. Taxis and Uber are also available but can be more expensive than public transit.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to the Palace of Versailles or the Château de Fontainebleau. If you have less time, you can combine Jardin des Plantes and Luxembourg Gardens into one day.

Airports

Paris has two major airports: Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Orly Airport (ORY). Charles de Gaulle is the primary airport and is located 14 miles from the city centre. Orly Airport is located closer to the city centre, 10 miles, but it receives fewer international flights than Charles de Gaulle.
