3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Darjeeling in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Hiking in Singalila National Park

    In the morning, we will hike through the stunning Singalila National Park, famous for its diverse flora and fauna, including rare and endangered species such as the red panda and the Himalayan black bear. The afternoon will be spent enjoying a picnic lunch in the park and taking in the breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga and the surrounding peaks. In the evening, we will return to Darjeeling and explore the bustling Chowrasta Square, where you can shop for souvenirs and enjoy street food.

  2. Day 2: River Rafting in Teesta River
    1 hour 45 minutes (61.5 km) from Darjeeling

    After breakfast, we will head to Teesta River for an exhilarating rafting experience. The river offers exciting rapids for both beginners and experienced rafters. After lunch, we will visit the famous Ghum Monastery, the largest monastery in the region, which boasts a 15-feet statue of Maitreya Buddha. In the evening, we will enjoy a cultural show at the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, where you can witness traditional Tibetan dances and music.

  3. Day 3: Trekking in Sandakphu
    4 hours (58.2 km) from Darjeeling

    On the final day, we will embark on a trek to Sandakphu, the highest peak in West Bengal. The journey will take us through stunning landscapes, including dense forests, rolling hills, and quaint villages. We will stop for lunch at a local tea house and continue our trek, taking in the panoramic views of the Himalayas. In the evening, we will return to Darjeeling and enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the town's top restaurants.

If you enjoy adventure sports, you can also try your hand at rock climbing at Tenzing Rock, or paragliding at Kalimpong. For those interested in history, a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center is a must.
