Amritsar Itinerary for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Golden Temple
    15 minutes (5.1 km) from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport

    Start your Amritsar trip by visiting one of the most iconic and spiritual places in India, Golden Temple. The morning is the best time to visit the temple before the crowds rush in. After taking a dip in the holy Sarovar, head to the Langar Hall to have a hearty vegetarian breakfast. Spend your afternoon exploring the history of the temple and the Punjabi culture in the Central Sikh Museum. In the evening, watch the Palki Sahib Ceremony and take a stroll around the temple complex.

  2. Day 2: Jallianwala Bagh and Partition Museum
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from Golden Temple

    Start your day by paying your respects to the martyrs who lost their lives in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. The gardens have been well-preserved, and you can still see bullet marks on the walls. Afterward, visit the Partition Museum to learn about the tragic events that led to the division of India and Pakistan in 1947.   4. Day 4: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum and Khalsa College
    20 minutes (6.9 km) from Golden Temple

    Start your day by visiting the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, which is dedicated to the life of the Sikh emperor. The museum houses several relics of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, such as his weapons, paintings, and manuscripts. Afterward, head to Khalsa College, which was established in 1892. The college's architecture is a blend of Mughal and Sikh styles. In the afternoon, visit the rural village of Sadda Pind to witness the daily life of Punjabi villagers. You can also indulge in some traditional activities like pottery, Kathputli dance, and bullock cart ride.
